Thelma Alice Emma Aho


It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thelma on September 15, 2009, after a short courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 18, 1946 in Indian Head, SK, raised in Revelstoke, BC and resided in Kamloops, BC since 1974. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Dennis Aho, daughter Shannon Crowle, and sons Jason (Diana) Aho their children Tyler and Ashlyn, and Allan (Donna) Crowle, their children Megan, Halley, Marc and James. Thelma is also survived by her mother Elda Freer, brothers Edwin (Jeanne) Freer and Patrick Freer, along with nieces, numerous relatives and friends. Thelma was predeceased by her father Stanley Freer and brother Alvin Freer.


Thelma enjoyed life, playing with her grandchildren, attending family reunions, traveling, cruising, a good movie and starting her day with a good cup of coffee and a newspaper. She was a great bowling coach and volunteered with various other youth programs. All who knew Thelma will miss her warm heart, big beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor.


A Celebration of Thelma’s Life was held in the Chapel of Personal Alternative Funeral Service - 177 Tranquille Rd on Saturday, September 19th at 2:00pm with Pastor Steven Herbert officiating.


A heartfelt thank you to her loyal friends Pat, Grace, and Joyce for their continued support during Thelma’s stay at hospice. We are especially thankful for the compassionate and loving staff at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice House. Also thank you to the BC Cancer Agency in Kelowna, Doctor H. Ritenburg, M. Faridi, the Free Masons, and the Canadian Red Cross.
