Violet Mary (Vi) Shewchuk passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 at the age of 73 years. A Memorial Service was held at the Revelstoke United Church on Monday afternoon, June 13th with Reverend Dan Meakes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. & Yukon, 201 – 635 Victoria Street, Kamloops, B.C. V2C 2B3, in memory of Vi.
Vi was born in Revelstoke, B.C. on June 4, 1938 and had been a life-long resident. She loved her flowers and gardening. Vi enjoyed running her trailer park and all her tenants. She enjoyed travelling and visiting with her family and friends. Vi especially loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Vi was predeceased by her parents, sister Lorraine Wapple, brother Bruce Kulchyski and son-in-law Graham Kowalchuk. She is survived by her husband Nick of Revelstoke; two children: Sherilee Kowalchuk (Scott McQuarrie) and Jeff Shewchuk, both of Revelstoke; two grandchildren: Justine Kowalchuk of Victoria and David Kowalchuk of Revelstoke; brother Ted (Rose) Kulchyski of Kamloops; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as her dog Rudiger.
