Bill was born in Calgary, Alberta on July 16, 1932. The family moved to Tappen for a few years before settling in Revelstoke when Bill was eight years old, a place he was proud to call home. He worked for over 34 years for CP Rail as a brakeman, conductor and finally as supervisor of crew management. He was highly respected by the running crew and the office staff.
Bill was a life-time member of the Revelstoke Golf Club. He was an exceptional golfer having won the club championship numerous times, as well as other tournaments throughout the years. In winter Bill participated in Men’s Bowling Leagues. He could also be found with the boys at the local hockey rink watching all levels of hockey. Summers were spent at Mara Lake surrounded by family and friends. He loved his boat in which he spent countless hours cruising the lake with Lenore, taking all the kids waterskiing and tubing. Bill was also an avid water skier himself and still enjoyed the sport on his 80th birthday. He enjoyed his coffee group with the boys at McDonalds. Bill adored his grandchildren and spent hours playing golf with them or cheering them on at a ball diamond, hockey rink or swimming pool. Bill was a first class gentleman, amazing friend and a great father and husband to his family.
Bill was predeceased by his mother and father, Edith and William Belton. He is survived by his wife Lenore of Revelstoke, two children: Terry (Toni) of Langley and Sherri (Tim) of Toronto; six grandchildren: Matthew, Tori, Mark, Olivia, Thomas and Sarah; one brother Ronald (Paula); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
