Thanks for solving the case of the CD case

I wanted to send out a thank-you and to note how honest and remarkable people are in Revelstoke. I’ve read some of your stories regarding vandalism but the flip side also exists in your town.

Editor,

I wanted to send out a thank-you and to note how honest and remarkable people are in Revelstoke. I’ve read some of your stories regarding vandalism but the flip side also exists in your town.

Arriving there in the dark with two young kids after a long drive from the Sunshine Coast on Sat. July 30, we lost a DVD case filled with 20 movies when we stopped in a parking lot to change drivers. We didn’t notice until the next morning and we searched the motel room and the van several times. We retraced our steps to a mini-mall parking lot where we had stopped. There the young woman in the Animal House pet store took our name and number and said she would also mention it to the staff at Zala’s when it opened later that day.

We drove home to Calgary, upset and fully expecting to have to replace all 20 DVDs, of which 16 were kids’ movies and four were library items. We were shocked when we arrived home to hear a phone message from MaryEllen at Zala’s saying she had the DVD case at the front desk of the restaurant. She promised to mail it to us in Calgary after the long weekend.

You have a beautiful town and lovely folk. Everyone should spend a little time in your gem!

Michele Jarvie,

Revelstoke
