Canadian paralympic athlete Jimmy Pelletier is making the trek across Canada by hand bike.
The goal is to finish the venture in 67 days to raise $500,000 for people with autism spectrum disorders and physical or intellectual disabilities.
He is scheduled to pedal Salmon Arm to Revelstoke on May 13 and make the ride to Golden on May 14, which will be the most elevation gain of the entire trip.
Jimmy is leading a team of six courageous cyclists from Vancouver to Halifax starting on the 7th of May to the 10th of July. During this great adventure, Jimmy will pass through your municipality. For all details regarding his schedule, you can follow this link.

The money raised will be given to Patro Roc-Amadour and Adaptavie, two Quebec nonprofit organizations, as well as various nonprofit organizations located in the cities visited during Jimmy’s coast to coast challenge.

Jimmy Pelletier survived a car accident in 1996 that left him paraplegic at 19 years old. He chose to embrace his condition and, with great perseverance, became a successful Paralympian. He has been a member of the Canadian hand cycling race bike team and he competed in the Torino 2006 Paralympic Games in cross-country skiing. Last year, he became the second in the world to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro using an adaptive mountain bike.
