One lucky Penticton Vees fan will receive a special prize of $1,000 on Tuesday, May 14, as the home team hosts the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in Game 7 of the Interior Conference Finals.
As part of its effort to give back to local youth, Penticton is set to hand out a special cash prize to one fan 18 years of age and younger at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
“We want to see as many energetic kids as possible in the building for Game 7,” said Fred Harbinson, the Vees’ head coach, general manager and president. “Playing at home is a huge advantage in a game like this, so want to see the SOEC packed with enthusiastic fans. I am excited to say one young fan will be leaving with a $1,000 prize.”
All purchased youth tickets will be entered in a draw for the cash prize. Existing youth season ticket members are automatically entered.
The winning ticket will be announced in the third period and the winner will have 10 minutes to claim their prize.
Youth tickets for fans 18 and under are free, courtesy of local business Peters Bros. Construction.
The Vees forced Game 7 after blanking Salmon Arm on Saturday, May 12.
Before this series, the Penticton hadn’t faced elimination in the playoffs since 2019.
Puck drop for Tuesday’s showdown is at 7 p.m.
