The motocross championships that were scheduled to take place in Revelstoke this August have been moved to Kamloops.

In a news release, MCQMX, the organizers of the CMRC Grand National Amateur Championships, said the event is now taking place at Whispering Pines MX Park in Kamloops from Aug. 17–20.

The championships was supposed to take place in Revelstoke on the Revy Riders newly extended track, but a late snow melt delayed preparations for the event and the club felt it wouldn’t meet the standards required to host the event.

“With track expansions complete and the resounding success of two national snow bike races this winter, the premier national event is anticipated to see record numbers,” stated the Revy Riders in the announcement. “After a late spring thaw delaying track parking expansion, both parties felt this would be the best for the race and the track to move the event for the season.”

The Revy Riders will be hosting a regional motocross race on July 29–30, the ladies Triple B Rally on Aug. 5 and the WTC National Trials Championship on Aug. 12–13.
