There were hundreds of people out on Mackenzie Avenue on Saturday night to take in the Downtown Showdown rail jam.

The showdown was broken down into stages, with a free-for-all practice session that saw skiers and snowboarders fly down the ramp and over the rails.

The top 13 of each were then chosen for the semi-finals and they repeated the process – rushing up the stairs, down the ramp and along the rails doing their best to impress.

On the skiers side, Owen Nightfloud, Shay Townley and Nicholas Suchy – all under the age of 13 – showed that Revelstoke's jibbing future was in good hands.

The only women were in the snowboarding competition.

After the finals the field was wittled down to six skiers and five snowboarders, who once again hit the rails.

In the end, the winners were as follows:

Men's snowboard

1st - Tom Pendergast

2nd - Conner Gliege

3rd - Jean Guy Michaud

Womens Snowboard

1st - Eve Northmore

2nd - Rebecka Grenier

3rd - Jenna

Skiing

1st - Jay T Pat

2nd - Jason Jones

3rd - Conner Gliege
