The Revelstoke Acrobats braved the treacherous road conditions and travelled to the first competition of the season in Burnaby over the Family Day long weekend.

We had record-like success at this meet, as we took 21 athletes and all made a final in at least one event. There were 17 medals won, including nine gold, four silver and four bronze.

Scott Novakowski, Charley Hill topped the podium in both of their events, while Parker English, Karsyn Powell, Summer Novakowski, Ruby Ryga, Starr Novakowski also brought home gold medals.

Will Harasym, Madeleine Hobgood, Summer Novakowski, and Alyssa Bollefer earned silver medals, and Karysn Powell, Starr Novakowski, Kaya Sproule, and Sofie Potter earned bronze podium spots.

Will Harasym earned a spot on the BC provincial team for nationals, making the qualifying score for double mini trampoline.

There are so many highlights from the meet to list, as every athlete was exceeding coaches expectations.

Being an Olympic year, there is always a lot of rule changes that govern our sport and judges have to re-certify. We had three of our judges pass the judging re-certification exam: Shawn Filipchuk, Sandy Donato and Dustin Harasym. Their hard work and practice allowed us to send athletes to competition.

Our next competition will be the BC Provincial Championships in April. The athletes will be working on perfecting routines and adding some more difficulty to some of their routines.
