The Revelstoke Aquaducks were victorious at their home meet for a second year in a row over the weekend. Battling eight tough teams from all over the Okanagan region, the Aquaducks placed first on the women's side and overall.
There were many meet records broken, including from our own Brynn Hoshizaki in the 200 metre individual medley (IM) with a time of 2:38.61. James LeBuke broke three meet records: 100 metre breaststroke with a time of 1:12.32, 100 metre backstroke with a 1:05.03, and 200 metre IM with a 2:24.79.
Nolan Gale bettered the 100 metre freestyle record with a time of 57.86. Beth Granstrom broke the 100 metre backstroke meet record with a 1:10.20, and the 200 metre IM record with a 2:29.55.
Revelstoke was also represented on the podium for aggregate medals in every age division from 1-6;

Revelstoke had 66 swimmers take part, including many in their first ever competitions. Well done to Liam Esson, Luke Traverse, Paige Schultz, Zephlyn Seymour, Ruby Corbett, Devyn Maddison, Marina Suengas, and Sophia Humphreys.
Other new competitors in their first races included several parents. The Revelstoke meet is home to the fun family relay, where swimmers raced with their parents, siblings, and even cousins. The parents got to try and out-swim their children, with great performances by parents such as Ross Hoshizaki, the meet manager.
A gruelling week awaits the team as we begin Challenge Week. This includes a day with four practices, a hike to Eva Lake, and difficult test sets and challenges in and out of the pool.
The Aquaducks are also all about fun, so team building and silly activities are in store such as costumes, game day, riding the mountain coaster and a movie night. Immediately following this challenge week, the team heads to Golden for the last regular meet before the regional and provincial championships in August to complete the season.
