Last week, both Tashi and Shey Townley competed at Apex in the first B.C. Series freestyle competition of the year. Both skiers built on their successes over the previous season.

Shey Townley won silver in the super-youth M5 single moguls. He also placed sixth in the Big Air event and the top eight in the duel moguls. He had a good shot of going to the semi-finals but spun out slightly on landing a huge 360 off the second jump allowing Seth Macgregor of Whistler to take the race.

Tashi Townley had a stellar performance competing in the youth category. He matched his brother by taking silver in the single moguls just behind Matt Findlayson of Apex. In the big air event, he did a 720 mute and stomped his landing to also win him the silver medal.

Mitch Wilson of Whistler won with a massive cork 720. On Sunday, Tashi won the dual moguls, beating Matt Findlayson in the finals. It was a great way to cap off a very successful weekend for the Revelstoke brothers. Tashi and Shey were the only athletes from Revelstoke to compete in this event.

There are three B.C. Freestyle Series this winter, the next one being held at Silverstar Resort Feb. 18-20. The Junior Nationals will be held in Jasper in early March.
