The Princeton Posse came out victorious after a closely fought contest against the Revelstoke Grizzlies, tying the conference championship series 2-2 in game 4 on Wednesday (March 22) night.

A packed crowd filled the Revelstoke Forum for the second night of back-to-back games to cheer on the Grizzlies, but several penalties against the home team kept the fans from gaining momentum with their support.

The first period was tilted in favour of Princeton as a number of penalties were called against the home team. Fortunately for Revelstoke, Grizzlies goaltender Jozef Kuchaslo stood his ground and kept the game scoreless.

Early on in the second period, the Posse scored their fourth goal of the series on a tip in front of the net to take a 1-0 lead. Midway through the period, Princeton doubled their lead on the power-play. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies struggled to get their offence going.

Revelstoke stole the Posse’s shutout with a power-play goal to make the game 2-1, but it was too little too late.

Despite a flurry of shots toward the end of the game, including a rocket slap shot that rung off the post from Porter Trevelyan, the Grizzlies could not score the tying goal. The Princeton Posse ended up with an important 2-1 victory.

Game five is set to be played on Friday (March 24) night in Princeton.
