The Revelstoke Grizzlies dropped three straight games last week in tough match ups against the two leading teams in their division.

The Grizzlies week started on Tuesday, Jan. 17, in Chase where they took on the division-leading Heat. Mason Palaga gave Chase an early lead scoring only 32 seconds into the game. Evan Hughes scored 4:19 later to make it 2-0.

David Lenzin got Revelstoke on the board a few minutes later with a power play goal, but Travis Beaubien restored Chase's two-goal lead with 1:05 left in the period to make it 3-1 after one.

Beaubien scored his second of the night 1:20 in the second period, but Revelstoke responded with goals from Jordan Rae and Raphael Bassot to get within one. Spencer Farstad put Chase up 5-3 with a goal with 2:32 left in the period.

Revelstoke made it close when Jon Vandermolen scored the team's third power play goal of the game with 5:24 left in the second, but Chase cemented the win with an empty net goal in the dying seconds to send Revelstoke home with a 6-4 loss.

The 100 Mile House Wranglers were in Revelstoke for back-to-back games on the weekend. On Friday, the teams traded goals in the first period, with James Gordon scoring for the Wranglers and Rae netting one for Revelstoke.

The pattern repeated itself in the second, with Justin Bond scoring for 100 Mile and Tyler Chavez Leech scoring for Revelstoke. Revelstoke appeared to go up 3-2 minutes later when Ullar Wiatzka scored on a point shot, but the goal was called back.

The Wranglers stormed ahead in the third period, getting goals from Todd Bredo, Rob Raju and Jaydon Giliding before the period was half through to skate away with a 5-2 win.

The team's were back at it on Saturday. Frazer Dodd opened the scoring for 100 Mile at 8:28 of the first, but Newans tied the game for Revelstoke a minute later. Colton Thomas scored on the power play to put the Wranglers up 2-1 after one.

Riley Colsh scored the lone second period goal, while Raju and Colsh scored in the third to let the Wranglers return home with a 5-1 win.

The losses leave the Grizzlies where they started the week — fourth in the Doug Birks Division, 11 points behind the Kamloops Storm and 12 points up on the Sicamous Eagles.

This week, they faced the Sicamous Eagles on Tuesday, after press time, and host the Chase Heat on Friday and Summerland Steam on Saturday.
