Smith overtime hero as Revelstoke Grizzlies topple Merritt

Goaltending was on full display in Merritt on Friday night (Nov. 1) as the Revelstoke Grizzlies took on the Centennials.

Through 60 minutes, the game remained scoreless, despite the Grizzlies firing 40 shots on net compared to Merritt's 32. 

Finally, just 1:32 into overtime, Jacob Smith scored his third goal of the season for the Revelstoke to lift the Grizzlies to a 1-0 win.

Ryder Ponto made 33 saves in the win for Revelstoke while Merritt's Andrew Krakora made 41 saves in the loss.

With the win, the Grizzlies improved to 8-2-0-2 while Merritt is now 7-5-2-1.

Revelstoke is back in action on Saturday night (Nov. 2) against the Osoyoos Coyotes, with puck drop at 7 p.m.
