Annual Revelstoke banner painting program happening now

The city’s annual banner program is well underway at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre.

Around since the 90s, the community enhancement initiative has children, adults and businesses attend sessions in October and November and paint a banner that will be displayed around town throughout the year.

Once the banners are taken down, they are returned to the creators.

Artists are on hand to assist as needed and are available for hire by businesses if necessary.

The theme this year is “Recreation in Revelstoke-Celebrating 40 years in Recreation”.

Painting session are available:

  • Children- Oct. 10/11-3:30-6:30 p.m., Oct. 13 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Oct. 19 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Nov. 9 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Adults- Oct. 17/18-5:30 p.m.-9 p.m., Oct. 24/25-5:30 p.m.-9 p.m.
  • Business-Nov. 1/2-5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m., Nov. 12-17 scheduled by the Revelstoke Visual Arts Society

To register call the Revelstoke Community Centre at 250-837-9351 or email prc@revelstoke.ca. The cost is $60 for a child, adult or not for profit group and $142 for a business.
