Revelstoke isn’t exactly known for high fashion – Carhartts and a toque are not exactly the height of fashion.
That’s why it was such a pleasant surprise to be at the Last Drop last Friday and witness the creations of Estelle Norris for her Fashion Without Borders fundraiser.
The show was a sold out affair with many women and men out to check out the designs, enjoy some music, and support a good cause.
“The night was amazing,” said Norris. “It worked out so well, I can’t believe how amazing everybody was.”
There was definitely a little bit of anticipation in the room before the show started, as people weren’t sure to expect, but the reactions when the girls came out and strutted around the Last Drop were uniformly positive.
They looked good, partly thanks to the hair styling of the girls from Pure Image and makeup work by Bjorn Eddy, but largely from the clothes by Norris, with a few by Anne-Marie Snow as well.
The fundraiser raised $1,700 from ticket sales alone – the totals from the silent auction and bar sales weren’t tabulated as of press time – and all the money is going to Doctor’s Without Borders.
As well, a few of the auction baskets did not sell and are still up for grabs to the highest bidder.
