John Franks, the manager and golf pro at the Revelstoke Golf Club, receives a special certificate from Wendy Toyer of the ALS Society for taking part in the Golf-a-thon For Hope.
Franks had raised about $700 by Thursday afternoon, when this photo was taken, and he expects to raise more money when he does the golf-a-thon from sunrise to sunset on Monday, July 18.
Franks had personal experience dealing with ALS when his great-aunt came down with the disease and passed away three years ago.
