Raine Carnegie has named as one of three finalists for Free the Children’s Youth in Action award.
Carnegie, 13, was nominated for the award by his mother Krista, who cited his efforts starting the Halloween for Hunger and Shoes for Swalizand charity campaigns.
Raine said he didn’t know his mother had put him up for the award until Friday, when he checked his e-mail and told he was in the running to win a $5,000 donation to the charity of his choice and an article in Canadian Living.
Free the Children is a Toronto-based charity dedicated to help youth in developing countries.
