Nine Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services volunteer firefighters received their Basic Firefighting Services certificate at a ceremony at the fire hall earlier this month.

Elizabeth Ploeg, Christian Foster, Phil Bafaro,  Neil Schiiler, Jeremy Murray, Lyle Knapp, Brad Goodwin, Geoff Wilson and Riley Creighton completed written and practical firefighting tests proving their skills in safety, personal protective equipment, breathing equipment, ropes, ladders, ventilation, fire hoses and water management.

“We are very proud of each of them and their accomplishments, said Revelstoke Fire Chief Rob Girard. "It is an unbelievable amount of work time and dedication that each of them devoted to protecting our community."
