10 years later, and the Snowed In Comedy Tour is returning to Revelstoke. Comedians will take the stage at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre on Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

From trying to find a way to pay rent while snowboarding, to a comedy tour spanning the globe and a coast to coast Canadian tour, the Snowed In Comedy Tour has grown exponentially since its inception, fifteen years ago.

Tour founder, Dan Quinn said he first got the idea to start a comedy tour after seeing a map in Fernie known as the Powder Highway. The route passes through eight alpine ski resorts and over twenty backcountry lodges.

After hearing about Quinn’s plan, three other comedians decided to join the tour which led Quinn into looking for bigger venues as expenses increase with more performers.

After the original Powder Highway inspired tour, the comedic talents have since toured Australia, the US, France, Switzerland and expanded their Canadian stops.

The show features tour founder Dan Quinn, the Great Canadian Laugh Off winner, Paul Myrehaug, six-time Canadian Comedian of the year nominee, Pete Zedlacher, and Erica Sigurdson, a regular on CBC’s The Debaters.

While Quinn may be disapointed in the weather, he is still looking forward to visiting what he said is his “favourite stop on tour.”

Those interested in attending can purchase tickets on the Snowed In Comedy Tour website.
