The Hillcrest Hotel will be the scene of live music until the end of November.

Running on Friday and Saturday nights, this concert series, sponsored by Heineken, invites local artists to perform in a laid-back setting. Taking place in the Begbie lounge at the Hillcrest Hotel, this is an opportunity to enjoy music from some local fan favourites while taking in the ambience and enjoying weekly food specials and Heineken beer.

This series began on Oct.21 and has so far played host to Ron Sahlstrom, Jared Wayne, Joanne Stacey and James Elsner.

Norm Langlois, the general manager of the Hillcrest Hotel describes it as the kind of event where people can still enjoy their meal and hold a conversation, as opposed to a rock and roll type show.

On Fridays, the show runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., except Nov. 17, where the show begins at 7 p.m. On Saturdays, the performance begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m.

While the Hillcrest hosts live music every Thursday during the height of the winter season, this is the first time it is running a concert series during the shoulder season.

Sadie Baker, a local singer and pianist will be performing this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 10 and 11). Local act The Rev will be performing on Nov. 17 and Jared Wayne of Shoestring Necktie fame will be performing on Nov 18.

To find out more information about upcoming shows, check out the Hillcrest Hotel’s Facebook page or call them at 250-837-3322.
