Revelstoke Fire Service responded to a brush and grass fire on April, 6.

According to a Facebook post, Engine 1, Engine 2, Truck 8, Truck 9, Tender 4, Ladder 6 responded to the blaze behind Farwell Park. When the fire crews arrived, bystanders were on scene trying to get control of the flames.

The post explained that Engine 1 attended to the brush fire with crews from Truck 8 and Tender 4, while Truck 9 attended to a possible structure fire on Victoria Road with Engine 2 and Ladder 6. After investigating, it was determined that the smoke from the brush fire “infiltrated the structure and there was no fire extension into the building.” Firefighters responded to a person suffering from smoke inhalation until B.C. Ambulance Service took over.
