Revelstoke treated the home fans to another shut out in beating the Osoyoos Coyotes 5-0 last Friday night.

Despite their recent string of strong performances, the Revelstoke Grizzlies remain in third place in the highly competitive Doug Birks Division while Osoyoos sits last in the overall Kootenay International Junior Hockey League standings.

At 11:31 of the first period, Ethan Coventry backhanded a shot from the left side of the goal which found its way through the Coyote goaltender’s five hole, opening the scoring for the home squad.

Partway through the second period, at 5:23, Alexander Bronswyk capitalized with the man advantage and scooped up a rebound while on the right side off the goaltender’s pad, shooting the puck into an open net.

Less than a minute later, David Ander jumped on a loose puck out in front of the net to tally another goal for the Revelstoke.

The second period flurry by the Grizzlies continued a minute later on a wrist shot from the left hash mark by Faris Meddeb, extending the Grizzlies’ lead to 4-0.

The final goal of the contest came at 10:54 when Kuy Schmirler poked the puck into the goal from inside the left crease.

Brady Augot and Nicholas Buckley each had two assists on the evening while goaltender Louis Adler turned aside all the Coyotes shots on goal to earn a well deserved shutout. Final shots were dominated by the home team at 48-19.
