The Natural Selection Tour (NST) released the list of 30 snowboarders who will be competing to earn their spot at the final stop of the NST in Revelstoke next month.
From March 10–17, the weather window for the final two stops of the NST will open in Revelstoke. With two locations in Revelstoke to compete, 24 riders will take on the first day with only 12 advancing to the final day. Today, NST released the names of the 30 riders trying to make it to Revelstoke.
Most of the riders from last year’s final event in Revelstoke will be returning.
Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Elena Height, and Hailey Langland are set to compete for the women’s title, with Kimmy Fasani opting to take the season off, passing her spot to British Columbian, Robyn Van Gyn who won the tour in 2021.
Travis Rice, Mikkel Bang, Mikey Ciccarelli, Dustin Craven, Jared Elston, Ben Ferguson, Blake Paul, and Torstein Horgmo will all be returning to Revelstoke for the men’s event.
In addition to the returning riders, several riders who deferred their competition last year due to injury are slated to compete in Revelstoke in March, including Mark McMorris, Marion Haerty, and Hana Beaman. Sage Kotsenberg and Chris Rasman will also come directly to Revelstoke.
While the returning riders eyed the events in Revelstoke, the challenging riders went head-to-head in the NST’s DUELS, which happened in various locations around the world.
Sebbe De Buck and Kevin Backstrom took on the slopes of Andermatt, Switzerland. Jamie Anderson and Emma Crosby dueled in Crested Butte, Colo. Nils Mindnich and Victor Daviet rode in Durango, Colo. British Columbian, Specer O’Brien, faced off against Mary Rand at RED Mountain Resort in Rossland, BC. Red Gerard went up against Austen Sweetin in Irwin, Colo. Finally, Raibu Katayama competed against Torgier Bergrem in Myoko, Japan.
Of the 12 dueling riders, only the six winners will advance to the final events in Revelstoke. This year, the NST Rider Selection Committee also left one spot for the fans to choose by voting as the ‘Extra Selection’.
The voting for the ‘Extra Selection’ will coincide with the release of the winners of the DUELS, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 27. The DUELS are set to air on RedBull TV, where viewers can look for the winners who will advance to Revelstoke and vote for the wild card.
