A year ago, Stacey Thur received the awful news – the charges against the man who was accused of killing her son were stayed

Now, she is asking people to light a candle in their home in memory of her son Daniel Levesque at 4 p.m. this Sunday, Dec. 9, one year to the day Joshua Bredo was let out of custody.

"The thing we want most is accountability," Thur wrote on Facebook. "We want the investigators to look at the case with fresh eyes and see what maybe isn't obvious to them at the moment. We want movement, we want answers."

She is asking everyone to pray for justice for her son, who was found dead in a Victoria apartment on Aug. 3, 2011.

Bredo was arrested in connection with Levesque's death but the charges against him were stayed after a coroner's report concluded Levesque died of cocaine toxicity.

The report also stated Levesque had two circular wounds on the back of his head. indicative of hammer blows.

Investigators with the Victoria Police Department questioned the coroner's report and asked for a new one in April. In August they asked for a new pathologist to investigate Levesque's death.

A judge gave police until Dec. 8 to hold on to evidence belonging to Bredo. There has been no word yet as to recent progress in the investigation.

Thur said she hasn't received any updates from police into the investigation since August, nor has she inquired. She is asking people to pray for justice to be served in Levesque's death.

"Daniel very much believed in prayer," she wrote. "He believed in the higher power of God and so do we. For those of different beliefs, please just sit still and send the right intentions to the right places. Concentrate hard on the outcome we want.

"We will gather in numbers here, and we hope all of you all over the world will do the same. Please help us. Daniel is and always will be, a victim."
