Police confirm a person died in a collision involving a logging truck and a minivan over the weekend.
The incident occurred south of Sicamous, in the 8600-block of Highway 97A, on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 3.
Sicamous Sgt. Murray McNeil said in an email that the collision involved a northbound logging truck, which crossed the highway’s centre line and struck a southbound minivan. The van’s driver was declared dead at the scene.
McNeil added that drivers who witnessed the crash described the weather and road conditions as poor.
The BC Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. More information will be provided when it becomes available.
