REVELSTOKE — The City of Revelstoke is reporting that water appears to be flowing under the blockage created by the Lanark avalanche that blocked the Illecillewaet River.
"The river is flowing through the blockage and there appears to be no increase in ponding," wrote City of Revelstoke public information officer Teresa LeRose in a statement released Jan. 19 at 6 p.m.
Inflows equal outflows and a water gauge in Greely indicates a normal seasonal flow.
Authorities will continue to monitor the situation and will release further updates at www.revemergency.com if they arise.
