January 21, 1928 - December 20, 2021
Our wonderful Mom, Agnes Streeter was born to Henry and Elizabeth Sasges on January 21st, 1928 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and we are sad to announce that she died on December 20th, 2021 at Noric House in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 93 years. Although we grieve because of our loss, we are also happy for Mom now that her suffering is ended and she can now rest in heavenly peace.
Mom is survived by us, her four children, Leonard Streeter of Revelstoke, B.C., Donald (Nola) Streeter of Fraser Lake, B.C., Marlaine (Cyril) Cooper and Elaine (Stephen) Kraft of Vernon, B.C.; her grandchildren, Lindsay Goettemoeller, Jamie Kraft (Jeanette Elmore), Brad Cooper (Morgan Smith), Maureen Streeter and Russell Streeter; her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Colter, Shiloh, Rowan, Arthur, Mica and Lucas, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband J. Lawrence (Larry) Streeter in 2014, to whom she was married for 60 years; her parents, Elizabeth and Henry Sasges; five brothers, Al, Jerome, Reinard, Norbert and Emil; and one sister, Helen Donovan.
Agnes moved to Vernon from Humboldt, Saskatchewan with her family when she was nine years old. It was here that she met her future husband, Larry Streeter at a New Year's Eve dance in Falkland. They eventually married and in 1962, with their four children, made the move to Revelstoke, residing there until 2013 when they moved back to Vernon to a Care Facility.
Our Mom was a very steadfast, quiet woman who always cared for others rather than worrying about herself. In 1964 she began taking RCMP boarders into her home, which she continued to do for a number of years. She was very devoted to her church and spent many hours with the Catholic Women's League. Mom was well known for her homemade buns that disappeared quickly at the church bazaars. In her fifties, Mom went back to College to take a floral designing course and then worked at the Revelstoke Florists, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
In respecting Mom's wishes, she was cremated and a Funeral Mass and burial will take place in the Spring of 2022.
Funeral arrangements have been made with Bethel Funeral Chapel Ltd., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5 250-542-1187
