David George Bowman passed away peacefully March 14, 2008 in the comfort of family. David is survived by his wife Lilian, son Tony (Carol) and daughters Mary Elizabeth (pre-deceased), Mary Abel (Clark) and Elizabeth Blunt (David); 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

David was born October 17, 1926 in London England. David married his sweetheart and love Lilian shortly after leaving the Royal Navy 1947. In 1952 they immigrated to Canada. After working at a number of jobs David finally secured an accounting position within the Ministry of Transport.

Shortly after receiving a degree in administration David left the Ministry of Transport to take up the challenge of hospital administration at facilities in Revelstoke, Nakusp and finally retiring from Arrowsmith Lodge in Parksville.

David and Lilian returned to England for a short time to try and re-acquaint themselves with the country they had left behind. They enjoyed the few years back in England, however, the overwhelming call of Canadian soil and children once again brought them back to settle in Mill Bay.

The family would like to express its thanks to the staff of Glengarry Fairfield for their loving care and kindness and great support in David’s time of passing. Thank you!
