In loving memory ~
Dennis John Aho, age 79, of Kamloops, British Columbia passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022.
Dennis was born on August 1, 1942 to Arthur and Hilda Aho in Revelstoke, BC. He grew up in the Sicamous area and graduated from Eagle River Secondary School where he was on several sports teams and committees.
He began a lengthy career with Canadian Paci c Railway as a Brakeman and Conductor working in various yards and subs including Field, Golden, Revelstoke, Kamloops, North Bend, Port Coquitlam and Vancouver. In his o -time in his younger years he spent time snowmobiling, camping, shing, bottle digging and getting to know the railway inside and out. It was said he was great to work with, but a road trip with Dennis was like a railway rules-refresher course.
Dennis wed Thelma (nee Freer) in 1972 in Revelstoke, and the family moved to Kamloops in 1974 which was primarily the base for the remainder of his railway career. Always on the look out for a good deal, when he wasn't working Dennis enjoyed checking out garage sales, ea markets, and various book and thrift stores.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Arthur & Hilda; his wife, Thelma; and some of his siblings, Karl, Allan, Elmer, and Bertha. He is survived by his son, Jason; daughter, Shannon; sister's Laina and Irene; many nieces and nephews; and grandchildren, Tyler and Ashlyn.
