Domenico Lentini passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Mount Cartier Court, Revelstoke on Wednesday, July 21st, 2021, at the age of 94 years. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Wednesday morning, July 28th, 2021, with Father Luan Vu celebrant. Entombment followed in the family crypt of Sage Valley Mausoleum in Kamloops.
Domenico was born in Condufuri, Reggio Calabria, Italy on April 23,1927 and had been a resident of Revelstoke since 1968. He was an early riser, who enjoyed gardening and loved to compete with his neighbours to see who could grow the largest tomato in the shortest time. He also liked taking care of his chickens and collecting the eggs. Domenico loved to give the eggs to his family and neighbours. He was an avid wine maker and taught his grandsons how to crush the grapes with their feet. Domenico lived a simple and happy life and family was his top priority.
Domenico was predeceased by his beloved wife Maria in March 2020. He is survived by three children: Tony of Revelstoke, Cathy (Paul) Suraci of Revelstoke and Frank of Revelstoke; four grandchildren: Peter (Julia) Suraci of Kelowna, Valerie Suraci of Lake Country, Domenic Lentini (Amy Coomber) of Rutland and Dorian Lentini of Victoria; three great grandchildren: Natalie, Madelyn and Allison, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
