December 19, 1929 - November 10, 2020
On Tuesday November 10th Gladys passed peacefully at age 90 in her assisted care residence in Armstrong, B.C.
Gladys was born in Golden B.C. on December 19th 1929 to David and Anne Pedley. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Jack, three brothers: David, Jim, and Jack, four sisters: Eva, Nel, Sweetie, and twin sister Eileen.
Gladys leaves to morn her four daughters, Sandra (Larry) Stowards of Enderby, B.C., Elizabeth Campbell of Leduc A.B., Diane (Rick) Ryder of Dawson Creek, B.C. and Bernice Salter of Edmonton, A.B., Eight Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren, and Two Great-Great Grandchildren.
Gladys worked in Golden, B.C. and at the Revelstoke Hotel in her earlier years as a waitress. Combined with raising four daughters and being a dedicated housewife on the home front, including gardening, and canning preserves.
Gladys belonged to various clubs throughout the years, Lady Trainman's lodge, Royal Purple as the "Honoured Royal Lady", and Revelstoke Legion Ladies auxiliary for many years.
Gladys thoroughly enjoyed going out to local Bingo games. Her Saturday afternoon highlight was the Legion meat draw taking her seat by Milly and company. Frequently winning a package of meat.
Gladys always looked forward to visits with her family, and cooking up a great meal for everyone. She loved touring to Alaska-Yukon, Las Vegas, Reno, Red Wood forest West coast, Mt St. Helen, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba Elks convention and Vancouver Island trips.
Due to health challenges Gladys spent the past few years in assisted living at Pioneer Square.
No service will be held at this time due to Covid 19 restrictions. A family grave side service will be held at the Revelstoke Cemetery in the spring of 2021.
