October 27, 1962 - February 1, 2021
It is with great sadness and regret we announce the sudden passing of John Henry Skrypnyk. At the age of 58 years on February 1, 2021 in North Vancouver.
John lived life, played hard, and worked hard. John believed you learned more about a person in one hour of play then you could in a year of conversation, he also believed people who played together would stay together.
John worked over 30 years with Canadian Pacific Railway and retired as a locomotive engineer in January 2018.
John was an amazing person who could get more accomplished in 1 day then most with precision and determination. John was a long standing resident of Revelstoke. He lived a fulfilling life with much adventure in his heart. His favourite playground was the mountains around and near Revelstoke. Skiing, snowmobiling, hiking and biking were only a small part of his love of the mountains.
In the mountains is where John felt the most at home and alive. A day in the mountain would feed John's soul, his zest for life would enrich his enthusiastic spirit. A level of happiness not many ever feel. He would talk your ear off if given the chance, sharing his latest adventure.
John was predeceased by his Father Nick, and Mother Marge. He leaves to mourn, his Daughter Courtney (Carter), Grand Daughter Charlee, Brothers: Wally (Karen), Rob (Fiona), Paul, Bert (Petra), and Sister Lori (Greg) Along with nieces and nephews: Matt, Justin, Eryn, Domenic, and Lucas; and many friends.
Enjoy the eternal mountain adventures John, those who loved you most will miss you forever. There will be no funeral service at this time.
