Martha Seafoot

1944 - 2010


On Tuesday March 2nd, Mrs. Martha Ludwina Seafoot of Oliver, formerly of Revelstoke passed away peacefully in hospice care at the age of 65 years.


Funeral Mass was held on Monday March 8th at 11:00 a.m. from Christ the King Catholic Church in Oliver with Fr. Sebastian Puthenpura the celebrant. Interment followed in the Oliver cemetery with a reception afterwards in the lower church hall. Prayers were held on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Christ the King Church.


Martha will be lovingly remembered by her family including her devoted husband Ben. Six children; Larry (Jan), Marlo, Kim (Casey), Brenda (Gil), June (Dave) and John (Bonnie). Eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as two brothers and two sisters.


Martha was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan and moved with her family to Port Coquitlam as a young girl. Over the years she resided in Kamloops and Kelowna until moving to Revelstoke in 1983. Martha and Ben retired to Oliver in 2007. For many years Martha volunteered with Hospice and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League. She loved the adventure of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. One of her fondest memories was winning a raft race from Mission to Maple Ridge on a homemade raft built by Martha and her sisters.
