It is with deep sadness that we mark the passing of Maureen Diane Markstrom on July 27, 2023, at the age of 78 years after an aggressive battle with cancer.
Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Gordie Markstrom and her parents, Elma Harrison and Lorne (Pearl) Harrison.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Sam) LeRose of Barriere, BC, her granddaughter, Ally (Kyle) Chudyk of Langham, SK and her grandson, AJ (Olivia) LeRose of Revelstoke, BC, her great-grandsons, Toby, Ollie and Evan and her brothers, Melvyn Harrison of Revelstoke, B.C. and Doug (Barb) Harrison of Summerland, BC along with regular and great nieces and nephews.
Maureen or Moe as her friends called her was born in Salmon Arm, BC. Gordie and Maureen lived in Faro, Yukon and various locations in BC, such as Revelstoke, Telkwa, Likely, Goldstream Mine and Tappen. Many friendships were made along the way.
Her main employment was in the office of D & A Logging and she kept books for Goldstream Trucking.
She enjoyed playing baseball in her younger years and driving the backroads, a game of pool at Sunnybrae Seniors Centre and relaxing with a beer.
A get together of family and friends will be held in Revelstoke in mid-October for both Maureen and Gordie Markstrom.
