Nancy Leah Archambault, surrounded by her family, passed away in Kelowna General Hospital on Saturday evening, February 4, 2012 at the age of 50 years.


A celebration of life service and reception was held from the Revelstoke United Church on Thursday afternoon, February 9th at 2 p.m. with Reverend Ken Jones and Jack Bowers officiating. Tributes were shared by family and friends, including her brother in law, Fred Wells, and daughter, Michelle.


Cremation with interment to follow at a later date in her parents plot in Mountain View Cemetery.


Nancy was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on September 24, 1961, and grew up in Ladner B.C. She enjoyed playing softball, basketball and was a member of the Cadets for several years. She met and later married Mike Archambault and moved up north in 1981 where they began raising their three children. In 1988, a tragic motor vehicle accident in Northern B.C. left her a paraplegic, Nancy faced this adversity and others that followed with incredible courage and self determination. In 1995 she moved with her three children to Revelstoke B.C. to be closer to her parents and family, yet continued with her strong will, stubbornness and independence raising her young family.


Nancy had the incredible gift of adapting with her situation, gaining love, respect and admiration from all who knew who her. Nancy is fondly remembered for her quick wit, joking ways and laughter, always a joy to be around.


She was predeceased by her father, John in 2002 and mother, Peggy in 2010. She leaves her loving family, children, Michelle of Creston, George (Crystal) of MacKenzie, John (Elaine) of Creston; 5 grandchildren, Lawson Banbury, Brooklyn, Brody and Jax Archambault, and Jaylin Archambault; 11 brothers and sisters; Wayne (Brenda) Clark, Herbie (Colleen) Craig, Christine Deverall, Susan Baresinkoff, Patty (Mark) Byrtus, Michelle (Bill) White, Janice (Mike) Loukopoulos, Kim (Jean-Louis) Beaucage, Angie (Fred) Wells, Mike Gould and Rick Gould; 24 nieces and nephews.
