Mr. Patrick Wayne Mercer died in hospital on Dec 27, 2010 in Vancouver at the age of 65 years after a lengthy and courageous battle with illness.
Pat (Woody) was the only child of Jack and Edna Mercer, born on Sept 20,1945. Pat spent most of his childhood in and attended school in Revelstoke. He was a resident of North Vancouver since 1970, where he worked a BCR Rail Traffic Controller (Train Dispatcher); his last shift was July 7, 2001. Pat retired August 1, 2001.
Pat loved partying at “the cabin” and houseboating on Shuswap Lake, and he was particularly fond of playing the stock market.
Pat was an only child. He was predeceased by his loving mother Edna and his crusty one-of-a-kind father Jack. Pat leaves many special friends to mourn his passing. We will miss his twiddling thumbs, the twinkle in his eyes and his friendship.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be at the Army & Navy Club, (119 East 3’rd St North Vancouver) at 2 pm Sunday Feb 20, 2011.
