In Loving Memory (1947-2024) ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patsy (Pat) Fumiko Bassett with her family by her side at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the age of 76.
Pat was born in Revelstoke, BC in 1947 and lived there until 2022 when she moved to Vernon, BC to be closer to her family and her best friend Sandra Blanchette.
Pat fought a courageous battle of various cancers for seven years and rarely complained. She enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, playing cards and travelling to visit family.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she spent many years building great memories with them. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was strong, kind, loving, compassionate and had a wonderful sense of humour.
She was always there when you needed her and often put the needs of others first. She never expected or asked for anything from anyone.
Pat was predeceased by her husband Victor in 2022.
She is survived by her three children: Vic Bassett (Lori Jones) in Chase, BC, Troy Bassett (Lisa Wilde) in Campbell River, BC, and Tina (Bob) Johnson in Vernon, BC; seven grandchildren: Justin, Tianna, Dezarae, Austin, Rachel, Kyla and Janelle; two great-grandchildren: Adrianna and Taiya.
Pat's family loved her immensely and she will be deeply missed.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Aucamp, Dr. Lamprecht and the staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for the exceptional care they provided to Pat.
A get-together of family and friends will be held in Revelstoke at a later date for both Victor and Pat Bassett.
