Shelagh Fitzgerald passed away peacefully in Revelstoke on Thursday August 24th.
Shelagh was born in Vancouver BC on March 24, 1943. After living in New Westminster and Peachland, Shelagh spent her adolescent years growing up in Revelstoke. Upon graduating high school in 1961, she moved to Calgary, then Kelowna, eventually settling in Vancouver.
Shelagh's illustrious career in Health Care spanned over 30 years. In 2010 Shelagh retired leaving her prestigious position as Director of the Human Resources Department of Fraser Health. Shelagh continued her work as a Human Resources consultant, working with several care facilities, namely Hawthorne Seniors Care Community until she was 74.
Some of Shelagh's earlier interests included sewing, reading, travelling and photography. Her passion for reading remained throughout her adult and later years, matched closely by her love for culinary experiences and her appreciation for the beauty of nature.
Once retired and spending more time at home, Shelagh adopted her beloved dog Chrissy who brought her much joy and comfort in her later years.
Shelagh was predeceased by her mother, Carell Fitzgerald, her father, Floyd Fitzgerald, her niece Kelly Ormiston and brother, Barrie Mackenzie (Fitzgerald).
Shelagh is survived by her sisters Alisen Ormiston (Tim), Leah Tillen, her nieces and nephews Marnie, Lesley, Carell, Scott, Abbie, Adria, Arone, Murray and Natalie, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Shelagh will also be missed by her very dear lifelong friends.
Cremation arrangements are in care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
