William John “Jack” Bailey passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Sunday, May 8th, 2016 at the age of 82 years. There will be no formal funeral service by Jack’s own request.


Jack was born in Vancouver, B.C. on April 6, 1934 and had been a resident of Revelstoke for 80 years. He did construction work on the Revelstoke and Mica dams and he worked for many years doing highway maintenance. He loved tinkering, welding and working on equipment. Jack enjoyed life on his property beside Williamson’s lake. He had a great sense of humour, was very social, loved to joke with people and was very entertaining. Jack especially loved driving in his red Jeep.


Jack was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Mary Bailey, and two sisters Olive Robbins and Peggy Collinson. He is survived by four children: Brian (Alma) Bailey of Revelstoke, Leanne (Joel) Hriczu of Cherryville, Heather (Gordon) Masson of Revelstoke and Don Bailey of Revelstoke; seven grandchildren: Susan, Jonathan, Christopher, Wyntur, Eden, Taylar and Matthew; one sister, Babe Miskulin of Nakusp; his former wife Pat Douglas of Vernon; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog Cindy.
