Revelstoke Grizzlies 8-0, playing at home on Saturday

The Grizzlies are 8-0 so far in the regular season after another two wins on the road last weekend.

The Grizzlies are 8-0 so far in the regular season after another two wins on the road last weekend.

On Friday the Grizzlies played in Fernie, winning 4-3 in overtime.

Fernie scored the first goal of the game nearly five minutes in to the first period.

The second goal wasn’t scored until almost halfway through the second period, with Fernie taking the lead 2-0.

Ryan Pereverzoff scored the Grizzlies’ first goal on a power play with 5:41 left on the clock, assisted by Ethan Schaeffer and Ullar Wiatzka.

Pereverzoff scored the Grizzlies’ second goal on a power play less than 30 seconds in to the third period, tying the score 2-2, assisted by Jon Vandermolen and David Lenzin.

The Grizzlies pulled ahead briefly in the third period with a goal by Ethan Schaeffer with 16:32 left on the clock, assisted by Pereveroff and Ullar Wiatzka, however, Fernie answered back with a third goal three minutes later.

Wiatzka scored the winning goal with 2:56 left in the second overtime period, assisted by Tommy Bodtker and Cody Flann.

The Grizzlies successfully killed seven penalties.

Goalie Liam McGarva save 25 shots and Fernie’s goal Riley Fonger saved 42.

On Saturday the Grizzlies played the Kimberly Dynamiters, winning 3-2.

The Dynamiters started off the game hard, scoring in the first minute of play and the Grizzlies didn’t answer back until 14 minutes later with a goal by Cody Flann.

Kimberly came out strong in the second period as well, scoring a power play goal less than five minutes in.

Cater Anderson, assisted by Caleb Rausch answered back with a power play goal with 4:24 left on the clock in the second period.

Going into the third tied 2-2, Revelstoke sealed the deal with a power play goal at 15:34 and maintained their lead until the buzzer.

The Grizzlies killed eight penalties and goalie McGarva saved 32 shots.

Kimberly’s goalie, Adam Anderson save 24 shots.

The Grizzlies play this Friday against the North Okanagan Knights in Armstrong. Their second home game of the season is coming up on Saturday against the 100 Mile House Wranglers.
